I'm trying to replace the horrible brakes that came on my OCR3 with a new set of Ultegra brakes. These are last years model that came with the 9-speed Ultegra. The pads are not capable of adjusting low enough to meet the rim properly. The bottom 2/3 of the break pad hits the top edge of the rim and the top 1/3 rubs the tire which obviously isn't going to work.
It seems physically impossible to make this work. The original brakes have room to adjust the pads up and down. The Ultegras are all the way down and still need to go lower. Isn't the distance from the rim to the brake mounting point on the frame standard? Short of filing the slot longer, I'm stumped. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks,
Brian
