for a half iron man, do people prefer to change almost completely at each transition, i.e.

putting more comfy cycling shorts over wim shorts or tri-suit at T1
and
removing cycling shorts, putting on a running vest etc at T2

I know this will slow your transition times, but the benefits of wearing specific kit for each phase, plus the fact that its clean and dry must be worth the extra few seconds (unless you think its gunna stop you from winning i suppose - not an issue i have to deal with!)

I would be interested to hear what peoples preferences are!

My plan is to wear a tri shorts and tank start to finish. I have very comfy shorts for both ride and run though. And a tri top seems to offer enough comfort that there would be no need to change. However, I've heard of changing between for MOP who like to be extra comfortable.

For a 1/2 IM or an IM comfort means alot to me - so I prefer to be dry as possible by choosing cycle specific and run specific wear. The extra 15 seconds or so are worth it. For an Olympic distance that's another story - where I perfer to develop a strategy that allows for the shortest transition.

I wear the same thing start to finish up to 1/2 IM. I plan on changing for IM.

Cool, i get the impression its all down to personal preference. I think i'll just go with comfort over time saving! Cheers for your help,
