Absolutely the greatest race in the last few years. What effort by the leaders the last few days! Stage 19 was incredible. Cudos to Di Luca and Simoni for their great attempts to wrest the GC from Savoldelli. The Smurf-King Rujano is double tough and deserved his well-earned podium finish. Most of all, 'the Falcon' Savoldelli gutted it out, stayed cool and swooped to a victory that required every bicycling skill: TT, road racing, and mountiain climbing AND descending.
Then to top it off, there is the pave that shows up on the Colle Delle Finestre! If this wasn't the best of racing, I don't know what would be. I was able at work to sneak a look at the dailypeloton.com during the morning for live up-dates. Those guys made it all come alive. Then look at the pictures at Graham Watson's site in the evening.
Hope you guys enjoyed it as much as I did. I don't see how the Tour de France can approach this Giro for drama. So many top names were in contention throughout. Looking forward to 5 weeks from now, though.
