Next season if I have the money, I want to start downhill racing. Does anyone know of any good downhill bikes, (keep in mind that I am only 15 so I'm on a budget). I also might do mountain cross or super D, so any suggestions there would be greatly appreciated.

The 14 forum... If you wanna do all that, you're gonna want a 4-by. Those things can do anything.

Transition doesn't make a DH bike, those are FR bikes. REALLY NICE freeride bikes, but not really suited for DH racing.

4-by's are more of a supercross style racing bike, if you wanted to use it for DH then you would probably destroy the bike.

While thats what they are built for they are solid enough to handle dh courses. The travel might not feel so nice but it will survive. I have seen them survive 20 runs a day on whistler doing 12 to 14 ft drops pretty consistently...

What exactly is supercross??? Also does anyone know anything about super D racing? I was thinking of doing that until I can afford a DH rig.

Supercross...http://www.extremesports.ltd.uk/wheretoride/graphics/hexthorpe-bmx-track/hexthorpe-panoramic.jpg

The only thing I know about super D racing is that it is a transition between XC and DH.
