Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Your local bikeshop would be your best bet; I haven't seen a GT in mailorders for a long while.

If your neighbor wants one, tell your neighbor to come on this website so he can be an educated consumer instead of just some poor sap who starts foaming at the mouth when he starts panting "GT, GT, GT!". Really, there is some halfway decent stuff from them, as there is from Haro, but why not look at other brands? Bike shops are 99% clueless on decent bmx bikes and what you should be looking for. Ask here or other online sites.

One of the GT's I was looking at in a shop seemed alright as far as the parts went, and apparently the frame has an alright warranty, even if it's a piece of crap frame.
The paint jobs are kind of a matter of opinion.. I personally don't like them. Not a big deal.
The one I saw was about $270.
