Mountain Biking - FOX RP3 - What PSI do you run?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Picked up a Scalpel 2000 (http://wical.com/gallery/main.php/v/cycle/bikes/scalpel_2000/?g2_page=1) the other day and am still trying to dial it in. I am a fairly lite rider at 170 and was wondering if anyone had a recommended PSI for the FOX RP3 that came on the rear? Also, still a bit confused by the three setting controlled by the small lever on the back of it. The manual on Fox's site is not much help here either. Right now there is about 120 PSI in the rear shock.
Thanks in advance

Riders Weight minus 10%. So for you, 170-17=153.

Much appreciated :)
I found with the Fox on my FSR that sag is a more important measurement than the pressure. Pressure will get you in the ball park but setting the sag properly will get you the proper ride.
I agree. If you read page 3 of that PDF it will tell you how to set up the Scalpel rear Fox shock properly. With the Scalpel you will not have that much sag as it is a XC race design but follow those directions and you shouldn't have a problem.

Hi, I've also just purchased the 2000. I have about 10 hours on it and spent most of my ride time trying to get a good rear set-up. The tech at my LBS ( Cannondale factory trained ) told me to start at 70% of my body weight ( currently 170# ) and go from there. I found this (120#) to be to soft for me and bumped it up to 135# and so far I have to say it feels pretty good, but obviously a lot different than my hardtail so it's taking a while to get used to.
I'm with cyccommute and have been advised that the sag is a better guideline but I'll be damned if I can set the thing up...
As far as the 3 position switch settings ,centre is neutral, right is soft, left is firm. I'm still playing with that one and pretty much keep it on firm.
I hope this helps

I found it kinda funny that the Fox manual doesn'tactually explain this.
Do you mean left/right as you sit on the bike or as you look at the shock? Is + more damping?
