Advocacy & Safety - A little late but better than never! This should be thought provoking!

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Just proves all comments I have previously made about "the great unwashed" on this board. What I'd like to see is some of these path advocates actually try riding the path to actually go somewhere (like to work) and get there on time. Hang on, why am I even responding to this? Whoever wrote the article is a classic troll.

The artical has come up previously on the forums, and there was a discussion about it. What i found interesting on the above link, was the meeting between TBC Board members Gail Hurley, Randy Wile and The Villager Editor Michael Moore.

"(Michael Moore) mentioned that they had printed an apology on their website. He worked with Gail and Randy and agreed to have a monthly column for TBC to use to educate the area cyclists and residents about the rules related to sharing the road."

Yup, I remember reading it the first time. However, after reading it again, it just serves to enrage me more.

Another confirmation of my notion that gas is far too cheap in this ****-for-brains country of ours!

well, although the original article was quite infuriating, it is VERY good to see that some sane people still exist in Texas - and that at least some people care enough to do something.

so thanks to any who wrote letters and the Texas Bicycle Coalition!

even if we onl educate motorists one by one we're making progress

You think that kind of person would be happy to get the bikes off the street.......

But wait until you've heard them talk about my old ride....a glacier white peterbilt with stretched hood, penthouse sleeper and a 48 foot trailer filled with class A explosives.

They did want me on the road then either.....

Hey, maybe if I got an SUV with an ear-attached cell phone!!
