i like the wrenchforce, it's a nice tool and it's made by snap-on.

sorry, no first-hand recommendations other than "Park Sucks"
I haven't had the need to replace the crappy one I returned.

I hear good things about the modified Hozan, though.

I highly recommend the Hozan lockring pliers available via Business Cycles (and elsewhere, I'm sure). Very solid and secure and plenty of leverage.

Again with the Hozan. I don't have the pliers but I have the wrench, and it's awesome. So much better than the park...

the hozan is solid, but if you're in the market for a chainwhip too, check out the dura ace lockring/chain whip tool. it's really sweet...

The Park sucks. A shim under the curve of the wrench can make it suck less.

Academic question: if it were shaped like a french curve could the Park fit a relatively infinite size of lock rings?

Re: post seven. I have the Var tool pictured. Under certain circumstances, it's better than the Hozan (like very sticky lockrings). Of no use with most track lockrings, tho (exception: Phil Wood lockrings). Overall, I prefer the Hozan, and yes, the Park tool does suck.

Could never see a reason for forking out $$ for something you can get cheap from McMaster-Carr and quite honestly use maybe a couple times a year.

Page 2589 of thier on-line catalog (www.mcmaster.com). $7-8 plus another $4 or 5 to ship.

question: the hozan lockring pliers are better to have than the regular wrench, right? is there a reason that it might be better to have the wrench (aside from it being like 10bux cheaper)? I'm about to purchase one or the other. input desired.

I know this question comes a little late in the game on this thread, hope to get a reply or two.
