Hey, I just got a specialized P.2 and it comes with a dirt jam fork that looks like its operated by air and coil. Kinda confusing to me it has a valve on one side and a knob that clicks when I turn it on the other side. The reason I ask is becuase it seems a bit soft and rebounds fast and kinda hard and I would like to change that if at all possible. Thanks for the help.

okay I just a little visit with the Marzocchi site and I found out that it is part air and part coil.... I'm sorry but that just seems like a stupid concept to me, I mean how can you make sure that they're equally preloaded. I have to be honest I don't know to much about this subject so maybe you guys can clear this up for me, maybe I'm wrong about how this fork operates.

I don't think it matters all that much if they are equal. With that type of fork you get the plusses of a coil, and the plusses of a air fork.
Since the fork tubes are locked together, if one is super stiff and the other soft, it will equal out.

Would it put more strain on the crown that way? Both tension and compression at once... seems it would twist a bit over time.
