Any recommendations for a mountable helmet/bike video camera? I'm not riding with a full face helmet either.

Thanks!

One of the members here has one of these:

Seems pretty nice, costs a bit though. And considering you need to buy a video camera to actually record the video feed with...

The two companies already listed (Viosport and helmetcamera.com) are probably the most used. I have the helmetcamera.com version(4 yrs now) mainly because of the housing it comes with. It can take a serious beating, personal experiance, and there are no worries if used in the rain. It is also alot easier to mount with the housing, a strip of velcro on your helmet and it is mounted. No need for a full-face helmet with either cam because you can mount them on top.

As with any helmet cam, you will need a camcorder. If you are on a tight budget go for the viosport. If not then get the helmetcam.com camera. Just my preference.

Which ever cam you get, contact the company for a remote switch for your camera. It will save you from wasted photage and increase the length of time you can use one battery

I was thinking of getting one of these
http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7035594&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat8200050035&id=1112808020948

Their 4yr warrenty is another $150, but if I break it from a crash I can take it back and get a new one without hassle.

Try these guys, Eyewitness Camera, www.eyewitnesscamera.com. It's a completly self contained mini-camcorder with no moving parts. I just need a mount. Any ideas?

Thanks..,

Cliff.

I have a Xtreme Recall helmet cam (http://www.xtremerecall.com). Can take crashes all day and not hurt the camcorder or my backside.

good story: I gave them them some wrong info when I ordered but they still expressed replacements to me pronto at no charge. Now that's Class.

Yeah,

Does it record it and then you have to feed it through a video cam corder?
