Hello,
I looked at some similar posts, but still could use anyone's advice about buying a road bike...
I went to LBS and tried a few, one of which I really really liked (a Sequoia 'sport' road bike), then was faced with sticker shock as the saleperson had insisted on NOT telling me the prices in advance, even though I asked him and told him I was on a very tight budget and was new to biking.
Does anyone have any advice about buying new or used, which brands, what to look for, where to go in New York City or vacinity, and what I can expect for $? I don't want to go over 400-500... (but am realizing from other posts that this is probably unrealistic).
My amitions are to do day trips, but will probably end up doing most riding in Central Park or along the River.
Many thanks,
Teal
