Commuting - Boys with toys

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Admit it guys (and gals)--your bike really is a toy!
(ok, I won't tell anyone...go on and have fun on the way to work!)

I believe we are all really children deep down. The only thing that changes is which toys we play with. :D

Yeah, I would say useful toys:)

Of course they're toys. Nothing serious could be this much fun!
So long as no-one says bikes are just toys.

Do you count expenditure on cycling as transportation running costs, or leisure ?
If you assign your running costs to capital expenditure you can even appear to be richer than you really are. It seems to work most of the time.

Don;t make me answer this question! :p
(Hmmm, I believe that all the money I'm saving on gas is being spent on energy/granola bars, sports drinks, and bananas...)

Transportation most definitely.

I was on my way home after a day of riding. I left home at about 10 that morning, and was coming home well after midnight. I thought about it on the way home, how like a kid I was, spending almost all day on a bicycle, getting hot, sweaty, dirty and coming home like that. It was great.

I tell people who are amazed that I regularly bike-commute that I particularly enjoy being a kid in the morning on the way to work and being a kid again on the way home.
Is a bike a toy? You betcha.
