Introductions - Hello from Texas

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Greetings "Azle"......let me guess where you are from?? If you go the road route, there are plenty of organized rides in the DFW area. Hope to see you at some of them....welcome back to the bike. Hope you enjoy it....

Many welcomes, Azle. However, you don't have to choose between a mtb, and a road machine. Instead, do both! You can thank me later. :)
Well thanks for the welcome and I plan on doing both but I think from a get in shape point of view I am leaning toward Road bike. I have a Miele that i need to get tuned up it was my wife's brothers bike and back in the late eighties early ninetise he paid about a thousand for the bike I just need to get it road worthy and get my arse on it.

I am really looking forward to my first organized ride. I would really like to find a 82 or 83 schwinn continental that was my first and probably put over 2k on that bike.
