Heya'll,

I have been having pain above my left knee about 4 inches above the kneecap towards the outside of my leg. It seems to have sprung up about 2 months ago, and while I have still been able to ride... I think on any rides longer than 60 or 70 miles, It might start to really bug me. Did 64 miles last weekend, and while it was no REAL pain, it was pretty much annoying from mile 15 on. It almost feels like the muscle is tightening up.

I've measured myself, and setup my bike according to Wrenchscience's website, and everything seems great, except that. I'm wondering if it is a cleat/shoe problem. I use Sidi Shoes, and Speedplay pedals.

Any ideas?

Jeff

Do you stretch your IT band? For that matter, do you stretch at all?

Some Stretching... pretty minor though... defintiely not focusing on the IT band. Think that will help some?

Have you tried sliding your saddlle all the way back and then raising it some.
the KOPS (knee over pedal system).

yeah... tried that... The other night I raised in about 1/8" and slid the sit forward (from all the way back) about 1/4"... riding tomorrow.. I'll see if it makes a difference... used the KOPS method and it seemd to square up fine...
