Alright my insurance is being very annoying and I am going to switch carriers. After being diagnosed with kallmann's they are being a pain on paying for stuff. I am going to keep the same doctor, etc but I am going with a new carrier. I have looked into a few plans and they are all in the 160 per month range. I live in So Cal so that is an issue. The question is how good of insurance coverage do you need as an active racer? Any thing special to look for?
BTW because my insurance is being aholes I am not going to get to race this weekend... no coverage  Oh well... a nice 100 mile ride should do!

You need good coverage.. I use Blue Cross PPO and it is $120/month, but I have a $2000 deductible.. Do not race without coverage, I have had friends who had accidents and ended up owing $50,000 to a hospital..
The insurance companies regardless of who you use will try hard to deny a lot of out of the ordinary illnesses...
Luckily I work at a hospital so my insurance is both excellent and affordable. After my last crash, my hospital bill was over $35,000 and they paid for everything. All I can say is that if you plan on racing and riding aggressively, have good insurance. You might (hopefully) never have a need for it, but if you ever do, the sense of relief of knowing you won't be paying hospital bills for the next 20 years is amazing.

I raced for a few years with out insurance :o
I was lucky. Now I have excellent coverage through work and am greatfull for it. $160 a month sounds about normal. But a lot of companies will not cover a preexisting condition, is this one aware of the kallmann's and willing to cover it?
