I'm sure pretty much anyone into the culture knows about this already, but just in case anyone missed it, Plan-it-X Fest is taking place this June and July.
The tour consists of nine bands, with each show having at least one or two local bands. The touring bands are:
Defiance, Ohio (IL/OH/CA)
Rosa (TX)
This Bike is a Pipe Bomb (FL)
Ghost Mice (IL)
One Reason (MS/GA)
The Door-Keys (IL)
Madeline (IL by way of GA)
The Max Levine Ensemble (DC/MA/IL)
Erin Tobey (FL)
Mostly of the "Folk Punk" nature, but some solo acoustic acts, some straight-up Punk bands, and a little bit of weird stuff.
Anyway, Chris from Ghost Mice and Plan-it-X records is taking a school bus full of the members of these bands and some tagalongs across the Midwest, Southwest, and East Coast. If you dig Folk, Punk, Alternative, whatever, this is a good thing to see. The shows will cost around $10 each, including homemade food, games, workshoppes, et al. I highly encourage anyone that can to see this tour. I've seen half the bands that are going on it, and I can safely say that they all fall in the top twenty bands I've ever had the opportunity to see.
Anyway, if anyone wants anymore information, it's all here:
