Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Can someone explain to me the baseball-cap-under-the-helmet thing? It seems to me that in a headfirst fall the brim of the cap would hit first, pushing the helmet rearward, exposing the front of your skull, and....well, you know.

I used to wear mine like that when helmets "didn't" have visors available. How many of you can remember that? Back in '93 they didn't have visors...
I've worn mine like that before in sevier cold & wind. Found that a toboggan is usually too bulky. I have since started wearing a balaclava, whenever the temps are below 32ºF.

Balaclavas are the secret to success man :D
Perfect for those cold winter rides where you don't want to be sucking 12* air, and equally at home warming up a brisk 30-40* fall day as a hat, or pulled down to expose your whole face.
Back to the topic at hand though: Nice bike, you should try to get some trail pics.

Yeah, there's nothing like a slice of balaclava after a gyro dinner.
