Yet here I sit, reading through a schedule of shows they'll be doing about the upcoming Tour. Here's from my newsletter:

The "Chasing #7" sneak peeks are your advance look at special one minute programming blocks leading up to and commemorating the Discovery Channel Pro Cycling Team and Lance Armstrong's attempt for his seventh consecutive Tour de France victory.
Every night, June 6 - July 24, at 8 p.m. ET/PT and 11 p.m. ET/PT on the Discovery family of networks (Discovery Channel, TLC, Travel Channel, Discovery Science, Animal Planet, Discovery HD Theatre, FitTV, Discovery Health, Military, Discovery Home, and Discovery Times) you’ll see and hear about different aspects of the Tour de France including the riders, the history, the technology, the training, the race, and the efforts and mission of the Lance Armstrong Foundation. So tune-in, relax, learn and enjoy!

What gives? Or this doesn't count towards real Tour coverage or what?

P.S. Not like one minute is a lot, but I thought they'd be leaving everything to OLN. Maybe it'll signal an interest in them doing some longer segments about cycling and training?

I feel like these are more of good old self advertising. Look at our team look at us watch us, etc. More of take advantage of Lance in his last race. But we can hope they get into shows about the technology and stuff. I know I am, but then again I am a dork.

I am actually surprised that Discovery didn't do more self promotion and have some kind of actual coverage, maybe some summaries of the stages or behind the scenes with TEAM DISCOVERY...

I mean they are the main sponsor and they own a TV Channel...You'd think that they would take advantage of that...They must see OLN's ratings spike like crazy during the Tour. I wonder why they didn't want a piece of that?
