I admit to being jealous of the young folks without the responsibilities of wives, kids and mortgage who can shuck it all and ride for weeks at a time.

If this is you tell me how you did it.

Actually, I'm an old guy who has all the responsibilities. But I have worked at the same place for 25 years and have tons of vacation time per year. My wife hasn't been at her job for as long so I have extra vacation that I save up and do an expedition every other year. On the off years, I take them all along for something that doesn't involve days of hard riding but we go to interesting places. Our best vacations are bike vacations.

My wife and I decided not to have kids so that we would have the money, time and energy to go on long bike vacations.
