anyone know how to get a c-record quick release skewer apart? Can they be disassembled?
sorry, moose, in being so late to get back to you. I have pieces of two trashed ones. The front has a hammered lever, the rear has a chunk of the end piece that the lever fits into missing. I'd like to make one good one if I could figure out how the pieces come apart.

This may not be the same, but recently I pulled apart a vintage Shimano DuraAce QR. There was a tiny C-clamp hidden inside the cam body locating the lever arm in place that you could extract with a small pointy tool. Best to do inside a plastic baggie or the C-clip will spring out of sight. Then the arm can be pulled out freeing up the spindle (skewer). Note there is an offset cam arrangement that must line up properly. Not sure if the C-clip can be reused though as once deformed it may lose tension. Good luck.
