HA! I love this sport. My second tri this morning, and guess what?? I didn't come in last!!! Woohoo! The bike was awesome, I loved every minute of it. Great trail and I was able to really get some speed going. I still struggle with hills though, even though I love to really pound away at a hill, I have a hard time getting my speed back up to where I want to be after a nice hill. I am also having a hard time decending. I'm afraid of going to fast, so I apply brakes and don't have enough momentum when it counts. And I'm afraid of going around corners too fast too. I'm just a wuss basically!!
But the event was great. I nailed my swim time and I only passed one person, and nobody passed me so I felt good in the water. I still go anerobic in the water, and I never do when I train and I go easily 4x as far. Adrenelyn I guess. I have another tri on June 18th...I'll fill you in on that one too. I won't know my times for this event until Wednesday. I'll for sure post when I do!!! But I wasn't last...awesome.

Nice job! Keep it up on the hills, and you'll soon feel better after them!

Wait a minute you didn't mention your favorite part of the race ...that would be THE RUN...did it go any better/faster? Also did u use your HR monitor?

Yeah...no kidding. My favoriate part. I had been working on the run, as you may know, and I had gotten to the point where I could run a mile without stopping. Granted I was sucking wind, but I was not dead. So...then I got sick. And true to my chiropractors orders, I took it easy...for two weeks in order to heal for the event. I didn't ever really get a "run" in before the event. So...needless to say the "run" was not a run, but a walk. And an ocassional jog when I began to feel guilty or saw a friend approaching (on their way back of course). Since we didn't have a chip, I don't know that I'll have exact times on any of the individual events, but I can tell you for a certainity that it felt like an ETERNITY. But all being said and done, it was indeed an outstanding event. And since there were only 80 participants, it felt very laid back. The other athletes were SO AWESOME. I would say 70% of the people I passed on my way to the turn around (them on their way back) said encouraging words like way to go, or almost there, keep it up. Etc. And I even got a "high five" from a very attractive fella with an amazing behind...yes I turned to look!! Now I have two weeks to get my run back up to snuff...or at least up to my mile barrier! My next tri is June 18th!! Women only...I guess there won't be much "tail inspecting"...much! ;)
oh, and no HRM this time...totally didn't even think about it!
