What is a sledgehammer? What kind of story Napoleon dynamite has? In what way the original post supposed to be funny?

Napolean is a socially akward extrovert at a high school in Iowa (?). His friend Pedro has a "sweet" bike, and the two (in one scene) make a ramp and jump off it (well, only Pedro makes it all the way over). The sweet bike is a Sledgehammer with shocks and pegs. Napolean owns an awesome bike-boom (ish) road bike, but I guess those aren't cool in his book...

So, that means Sledgehammer(like the one people use in demolition work?) is not a name of the bike but a part of the bike?

And hi565- napolean says "dude you got like three feet on that one" after pedro rolls over ramp and has o e wheel on ground at all times....
