We arrived in Fairbanks at about 8:30pm or so and went to the supermarket for some grub. Todd and Erica and I parted ways in front of the bike shop I would camp near till morning when they open. I wanted to pitch my tent on the side of the shop but was told it was right in front of a night club about to open. So I moved out to the woods across the street. After getting my stuff together, I checked out the action at the club which was actually a huge 3 part building with techno in one area, hip-hop in another, and live rock in the third. I met three guys who worked around central Alaska feeding fire fighters. Chad, Joe, and Idean. We talked and played pool for a while. Then I got out on the dance floor and busted some moves to the techno music for a bit. I met Jen, who I danced with for a while. We hit it off and ended up going to another club later on for more dancing. Finally, we closed down the club and Jen was kind enough to offer me a roof over my head and a bed at her place, so I quickly accepted. I was a little nervous about leaving all my stuff out in the woods across from the bike shop and close to a busy road, but the following day, I found everything as I left it.

Peace

Dave
