General Cycling Discussion - Happy 4th of July

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Happy 4th of July to all of our neighbours down south.
Yes, seconded, and I hope it's a peaceful one.
Have a great one US members.
I still think you'd be better off as part of our Commonwealth (discuss)

On behalf of all United Statians everywhere who couldn't be here today to accept your wishes for us to live long and prosper due to previous commitments, I cordially accept your pleasantries and thank each and every one of you who contributed in any way, no matter how grandious or seemingly insignificant, to make it possible for us to celebrate this, our 226'th birthday.
Thank-you, God Bless you and goodnight Mrs. Calabash, wherever you are!

To have a b-day on the 4th !! Too cool.
As a sappy, patriotic guy, I will observe Independence Day with minimal distractions and no riding today. I will be independent of my bike.
Now, tomorrow ...
Obviousy, here in the mother country, the 4th of July is a sad day for us, as it's when a bunch of colonials got uppity and declared independance. Should stayed with us guys, we would now control the world (not just think we do)
4th of July explained for non-Americans

The city is sponsoring a parade and patriotic bicycle contest, and I left my red-white-and-blue Schwinn mountain bike at the office! Happy 4th of July to everyone who believes that all people are entitled to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness."
With more than 80 percent of my DNA coming from Scotland and England, I feel strong ties to the U.K., and I wish we could have "dissolved the political bands which connected" us without the bloodshed of the Revolutionary War, but I still think the separation was appropriate.

Thanks to all our world neighbors for their wishes for a happy 4th... it means a little more this year, so I won't be riding either. God Bless America, and a special prayer to the families of those lost in senseless acts of violence.

I'm celebrating the 4th by flying "Old Glory", and riding twice today instead of once. Enjoy the holiday, everyone!

I have one student in my class from the US, so I celebrated by not making any snide comments about the US in class today and, in fact, saying nice things about the US. I think she thought I was laying it on abit thick...:D
Well to all non American's Thanks. I as well share Scottish lineage clan Wallace to be exact. So Independence Day has a unique signifigance.

Reportedly, someone once said, "What? 'Pursuit of happiness?' What's that? We work ALL DAY LONG, who has time for that?"
Tommy Jeff pointed out that, "One day, we will be freed from labor to the degree that the 'pursuit of happiness' will be an important issue." Hm...how about, "bicycling?" ;)
HAPPY 4TH EVERYONE!!! Darn it...I'm 19 minutes too late
