Mountain Biking - Which Bike Would Be Good For Me

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

like i've said in a few other threads, i'm new to mountain biking, and am acustomed to BMX dirt jumping and such, I'm looking to get more into the mountain biek side of things. Basically looking to ride everything. These are a few i'm looking at
Giant Iguana
Giant STP 2
SPecialized Hardrock Comp Disc
Specialized Rockhopper
I'm leaning towards the Specialized Rockhopper and Giant STP 2
If you have any other bikes around $600 that you think might interest me or have any thoughts and comments on the bikes i've mentioned, it would be much appreciated, thank you.

If your riding everything you might want to go with a freeride bike. But they're far out of your price range.
