got a new track bike that has a 1 1/8 threadless fork and iwant to have the handlebars lower than they are now. but most of the new road stems are just like +6/-6. I want one that has a good rise, and ill flip it over. does anyone have any good suggestions on stem choice?

You might try searching in the single/speed fixed gear section - you'll get a lot more help there. Or maybe one of the mods will move it there for you.

Sorry I'm not much help...

stems come in all sorts of rises, it just depends on what level you want the bars. Most stems are flippable if they are threadless open faced type clamps so it's just a matter of figuring out what you would like and going to the bike shop and asking.
