Obviouisly, Wipperman only makes 9 and 10 speed chains in stainless anymore. Did they ever make a stainless 8 speed chain? If so, where's the best place to troll for NOS? If they never made a stainless 8 speed, are their nickel plated chains better than the non-plated ones?

Never mind - found one after a 15 minute Google. Thanks anyway.

I'm curious about stainless steel chains. What's the advantage over your avarage, plain-jane chain (a SRAM PC950 or a Shimano HG93, for example)? Are they more durable, stronger, lighter? They are pretty spendy (more than 3.5 times the price of the SRAM. based on current pricing at Performance).

Only advantage I can see is corrosion resistance - they don't rust when they get wet.
