Thinking of getting a trainer for home. Winter where I live is long, dark and cold, so bikeriding becomes minimal during this time. I've heard the TACX trainer (a dutch brand I believe) is supposed to good.
Are trainers any good?? Or will I store it under the bed after using it a few times??

I prefer rollers myself but I'm sure that trainers will certainly do the job.
I used rollers extensively this past winter and noticed a significant improvement in my speed and my pedaling stroke.
My average speed on my normal rides increased by over 5 kph.
I enjoyed riding all winter long and did not find them boring at all. Just don't get on and expect to ride for hours. They are not made to replace your outdoor riding but to supplement. Do different kinds of drills as well including spinning, intervals, high gear days etc... this will keep it interesting. I think if you spend an hour at most of them you will not find them under your bed until summer comes. Just don't forget them once the snow falls next winter.
Best of luck.
Mike
