depressed -- just got my new thompson x-2 stem in, only to realize that it's 31.8 clamp size is too big for the syntace bars. Boo. now I have to wait for the regular "elite" stem to come in...

unless someone can recommend a track drop with 31.8 diameter.

Seatpost cost more than the frame. Almost eveyone of your parts cost more than the frame. I love it.

I have a set of the deda Alum Track drops in 31.8 and matte black. Thet have slight dent in the right side, but are straight and stiff. PM me if you are interested.

Deda Pista Oversized. In matte black. Dead sexy. Mates well with the Deda Newton Pista stem.

I have the regular steel Deda Pista drops. They are burly and strong.

Juvi-kyle has the hook-up.

P.S. You can get the Deda Pista steel bars directly from Bianchi for $29. If you're into that.

For some reason those pedals are drop dead gorgeous.

Btw, if you ever, you know, find some drops you want, I'm willing to buy those syntace off you. You know. If ever.

Two kinds of Deda Pista track - alu and steel. Alu is 31.8, Steel is 26.

damn - 42cm, end to end on the steel Deda. I'd feel like a 4 year old driving a semi! I dig my 36s...sweet.

They also make the steel in 31.8 and that is why I am selling the alums.

the pista frameset is just a place holder for the nice parts. I'm getting a new frame this winter, most likely indy fab. Sorry thylacine, but they give me an industry discount.

i'm gonna try the shim, as i really like the new thompson stem, and i refuse to put a brake lever on a set of pista bars.

have i mentioned that i love you guys.

The Deda steel is 31. something. It's 4130 and the stiffest bars these hands have laid on since x-over from BMX. I found the alum ones quite sexy (matte black) but a little on the flex side for the street. I don't know why but the aluminum actually feels more flexy. thinner walls maybe? I've got some wide shoulders so the 42cm feels right.

absntr
06-08-05, 09:46 PM
The alum ones are definitely more flexy - and they do have seemingly thinner walls. The steel ones are beefy and I like 'em. Hopefully this Sunday will see them at the track. The 42 works out for me - 165's 36(!) was nice and tight and gave you this aero position but my shoulders are definitely broader.

you find me a 44, 46, or 48 with a 116 BCD for a reasonable price, and I'll give you the shirt off my back (currently chris king "it roll good with angry bee sound"). All i know is i love the crank arms, used as they might be.

Hey, I'll take the Pista frame off your hands for 50 bucks when you decide that it's not worthy of your parts.

I'd give you more and make you a profit. What size is it?

Now I will have to hate you a little bit each time my crappy integrated headset knocks around on my Fuji Track Pro.

I'm about to get a Mark V Pro but Tony only stocks 42cm Nitto 123B. Are these really that big? I'm only 5'7" and think that these might be too big. Do ya'll think that I'm better off getting the Nitto bars in a smaller size elswhere?

It depends on what you are used to and your shoulder width.
If you are riding something smaller than 42 now,
It's gonna feel really weird when you get on a wider bar.

Cashed the cranks today, had to go to a set of even older campy grand sport cranks. Depressing, but it happens.

well, as i was installing them, the crank bolt sheared off inside the bb spindle. As the dust cover was reverse threaded, we couldn't get the crank puller on to remove the crank. So after much deliberation, brute force was required to remove the crank arm from the bb spindle (after disassembling the phil bb). During the use of said brute force, one of the spiders on the crank arm was bent, and as such, I can't use them.
