i have some diadora $90 road shoe sthat are 46 in size. my feet during riding fill them up about to end of shoe and i know i need maybe a 46.5 or 47. anyway i wanna upgrade to somo sidi loricas, should i get the 47 do sidi fit pretty close to others in the length. i am asking this because lbs price is too high and i found some sweet deals online.
you'll need to try on before you part with $$$$. Otherwise it could end in tears.

Apparently Sidi shoes have odd sizes that are not really comparable to other brands. In general, sizing differs between brands. 44 Shimano fits me perfectly. 44 Adidas or Nike requires toe amputation before I can get the suckers on.
Make sure you have tried on a pair of the shoes you want (brand and model) in the size you want before you order.

The "lasts" that Sidi uses to make thier shoes are excellent. As a result, their shoes have an excellent fit. And they make them in three widths...and they are, by far the most popular shoe in the world as a result.
Here's what you should do....go to your local LBS that carries Sidi and get one of their employees to fit you to the shoe you want. After using the services of the LBS, don't buy them there...go home and use that free knowledge to buy the shoes on line...but beware...Sidi is actually one company that frowns on internet selling at below cost prices and as a result you will typically find that these "Sweet deals" are not so sweet after you buy them.
But I do encourage you to use the free fitting services of your LBS, but not make the purchase from them.... ;)

Boo!!! How dare you?! You can't just exploit your LBS like that! That's so terrible! The guys at your LBS will have so much more experience than you and they're only trying to make a living in return for this unique service.
It's people like you, roadwarrior, that are going to put small LBSs out of business.
I hope you're proud.

Matt, check out Roadwarriors profile and read some earlier posts. I suspect there may be a degree of tongue in cheek in his response. :)

Yes, fair enough, but the suggestion is still presented as sound advice and being a good friend of my LBS owner, I feel obliged to defend their cause!
Sorry if I offended anyone, but as for kubla khan, I'm sure he is aware of the problem of the struggling small business in the UK. If not then newsflash: there is a big crisis for local small businesses in the UK.
Sorry again.

I edited in a little "winky" so as to not cause any further angst...

As a comparison I wear a size 43 in Sidi (I've owned 8 pair of Sidi's and every one has fit exactly like the previous pair). I bought a pair of 43 DTM's off ebay (they were a real good deal) and they were nearly a full size larger.
