Did you buy it from a bikeshop? They'll usually take it back if its within 30 days (probably even used ones).

Every LBS I've went to will let you try/ride new bikes, so I can't imagine them deflating the price thaaaaat much. That just doesn't sound right.

Find out what the common return policy is for items in your country. In the USA, typically we are allowed a 30 day return policy for a full refund. If there is such a policy where you live, you should take your bike back and remind them of this policy. I bet you anything they would take that bike back and resell it as new... you watch. Fight them on that one because I can't see how there would be any wear and tear on the bike.

It could be that the shop won't take back a special order bike in the same way they would take a stock bike.

Let us know how it goes when you go back to the shop. If you can, check with other shops and see what their return policy is. If the other shops are more generous with their return policy, perhaps this shop can change their policy also.

I am curious. What do you not liike about the bike? if it is fit issue, usually it can be corrected.

I've heard of a 15% restocking fee but that sounds kinda rediculous.... then again, there are often no returns on special orders because the idea is that you've made up your mind.

Can someone tell me how you buy a bike on one day and grow to hate it so much ON THAT SAME DAY!

Methinks something very fishy here.

Here in Australia, the consumer laws are quite specific -- you buy something then want to return it because you "hate it"... well, caveat emptor, pal. You ordered it, you took delivery of it, you lump it. Why do you think shops ask for deposits on items ordered by frivilous jackasses.

I can imagine a car dealer taking back a new car that's been driven out of the lot and brought back for a full refund because the owner "hated it" a few miles down the road. NOT! There'd have to be something seriously mechanically wrong with it for that to happen.

Oh yeah, I also just love people who join up with the forums here to ask jack-ass questions only to never be seen again. Watch, I bet this will turn around so the poor old LBS gets the blame...

In Texas I can return a car to a dealer for a full refund within 30 days of purchase, no questions asked.
