Thanks for the compliments guys :)
If you are thinking about painting your frame, go for it. You can get a finish that will look as good as factory paint, it just won't be as durable. If you have any questions, just let me know I can try to help.

Great pictures, and great paint job!!! I could almost smell the paint fumes when viewing the pix. :D
nice paint job dude!
is that standard?
i never really cared what my bikes looked like and usually had a hard time geting off them long enough to take them completley apart to paint but i did paint a pair of forks once and they came out better than factory in look and the paint lasted a damm long time.
all I did was buy some polyurathane spray paint, rough sand the forks and sprayed until they were covered. it was a really warm day and the paint just went on well.
that paint is just really good stuff...... try it sometime.
I forget the brand and I can't even find it anymore at the local hardware store but i'm sure it exists.

Sometime ago I painted a frame. The paiint took a long time to dry. It also was not too durable. What brand of paint did you use?
Daniel
the brand of paint i used is:
Zynolyte Premium Quality Spray Paint
Interior/Exterior POLYURETHANE Formula
for extra toughness
that is exactly what it says on the can. it worked way beyond belief. I got it a Eagle Hardware years(maybe 8?) ago.
I haven't seen it in a long time.

here is mine finally. I got the pics developed...no digital cam yet.
I suck at photography so only a couple of pics came out ok.
My neighbor wanted her old Performance bike to be painted with an Urban Camo scheme but she didn't want it to look TOO good. She didn't want to feel bad when she scratched it up. So, instead of masking off the design as planned, I just used some homemade stencils and didn't worry too much about overspray. The silver/gray does not show up well in the picture.
I've painted maybe 6-7 frames so far but most were single colors with no special designs. This was my first attempt and something like this. She loved it and so did her friend who asked me to paint her bike also. I guess that is what counts, right? BTW, I do this just for fun since I love bikes and love to paint.
