Hello Everyone,
Joann & I rode a Santana tandem some 18 years ago. Due to Rhumatoid Arthritis we had to sell our tandem and did not expect to ever ride one again. Thanks to medical science Embrel has made a difference. We received our Co-Motion Primera last week. Since then we have been making adjustments and riding and making more adjustments. We didn't have single bicycles to use as a reference point so it takes serveral adjusments to get things right.
Since we didn't follow cycling much during the past 18 years the changes are dramatic. STI shifters are great and the Flight Deck computer is well worth the money. The jury is out on the Avid Mechanical Disc brake. The traffic is really bad and finding good roads locally will be a challenge.
We live 7 miles north of Hanover, PA, the reported "snack capital of the world" and getting our bodies back to a point where we can ride with others will take a while. Since we live close to Gettysburg we should be able to find places to ride. Finding the time is something else. Once we get some time on the tandem we will do some organized rides. (Later this year hopefully)
We are looking forward to this chapter in our lives.
