Looking for anyone out there that lives in the Chicago area that has satellite tv whose taping the Tour. I unfortunately have no access, and I would love to get my hands on a videotape of the stages, if possible. So, if you are taping and you can lend me a copy of your tape from time to time, I'd love to borrow it.... drop me a line if you are.

Just buy the Tour Tape when they come out middle of Next Month, I doubt if somebody is taping it, I tried it last year, but ended up having so many tapes,

I've searched for Tour de France and Giro d' Italia broadcasts on OLN, only to find programs featuring a panel of talking heads discussing the races, with a few clips sparsely scattered throughout. Somewhat irritating. :irritated

I was hoping to get the videos for my indoor cycling class. I guess I will have to wait until next month or something to get what I need. I was hoping to show some of the highlights and do a simulated stage in the class. What I'll do is just tell them to watch highlights on tv for this month if I can't get the videos I want, then next month, we'll do a few stages in class. It makes for some good classes. It's always good to talk to my students about road riding and form and technique and stuff like that, and it's good for them to see riders demonstrating that stuff. Besides that, I know I won't be able to see the Tour this year. I just have no access to any television channels showing the Tour. :(

If anyone knows of any realtime videos of the Tour I can get my hands on, I'd appreciate it too.

Koffee, you may want to ask your students if they can bring in tapes. Im sure a few of your students would have access to OLN. I'm not sure if its "legal", but it would be fun to ride along with the tour!

How long have you been teaching spinning classes? A co-worker just signed up for a spin class at the local gym, she has never been on a bike before, she says she loves it! :)

Joe-

Thanks for the suggestion. I spoke to my class this morning, and I have a noon class, and I'll speak with my other class at noon. I'm hoping if I spread the word to my classes that someone will come through for me.

I've been teaching indoor cycling for a couple of years now. What I'm finding these days is that the more I ride outside, the less I like to ride inside. It's ok. I teach other formats too, and I feel a lot more happiness when I teach other classes that give me a lot more freedom of movement. I use the indoor cycling as a means of weight control, and I pretty much work with the heart rate moniters so I can work on things like anaerobic threshold and hills, since there are no hills in downtown Chicago.
