Hello everyone i am new here, i want to get into mountain biking and looked at bikes yesterday but my lbs didn't have what i wanted. I want a rockhopper. they had some but they were to big or too small. There price also sucked, they were asking retail or higher on all there bikes. It is the only place around, so i was wondering if i could get one online. i havent really been able to find anything. does anyone know where i can get one online??
thanks

UNfortunately you're going to need to find an LBS that carries what you want that you find acceptable. Typically the bigger (in polularity not sheer size) companies will only ship to LBS's. Their assumed reason is that they want a pro putting it together and tuning it initially, which makes sense.

Some brands are available online, but Specialized seems to be pretty strict about only selling to LBSes, since i've almost never seen any Specialized product (bike or accessory) sold by an online retailer.

www.bicyclehabitat.com has specialized bikes. They also have a store front though, seems like a promising place with good pricing. I want to check it out since its in the city and i'm not far from it.

Oh sorry, they just show pricing on their products but actually don't sell it online :\.

Check out Colorado Cyclists too. They carry mid to upper end mountain bikes.

Your probably going to have to go out and find an LBS that has what you wnat. Most of these larger companies dont sell online as told by another poster. Try superpages.com and look for LBS within 25 miles or however far your willing to drive

Try eBAY.... I've bought a couple from there. Know your price beforehand though....
