General Cycling Discussion - wangaratta to bright
Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

hey guys, andyone that lives in meblourne, or victoria, hav u ever done the railtrail between wangaratta and bright (spealling???). if so, wwat bike would be most suitable for a teenager to do it on, remembering it is a dirt road.
As I remember from tripping through the area with a quick inspection in August 2002, much, if not all of the railtrail you are talking about (around 50km) is in fact chipseal on the old railbed formation. A touring bike, a hybrid, an MTB (but perhaps less so a thin-tyre roadbike) should cope with it.
