I saw a thread about someone who knows the owner of Buddy Bikes and I have been looking for a very long time - since 1986 for some information on this side-by-side bike which came out in Canada in the mid 80s. For one thing, I would like to buy one of these bikes for my family. And also, I was an actress back then and was one of the performers in the "advertisement/commercial" for the Buddy Bike that was being made for introducing the bike at Expo 86. It was filmed in Toronto and I was never ever able to get to see the finished commercial we shot at Kew Beach in T.O. on the boardwalk. If anyone can put me in touch with the company that makes them or anyone in their advertising I would love to see if I could buy an old tape of that commercial and the bike. I would love to show my kids that their mama was indeed a working actress once upon a time. Thanks for any help you can give. I really appreciate it.

We have a Buddy Bike. We're located in Los Angeles, however we also have the bike in Rancho Mirage (by Palm Springs). Not sure where you're located, but if you're interested, please contact me and we can talk about price, etc. We have pictures if you're interested in seeing it.

thanks and looking forward to hearing from you.

BuddyBike (formerly known as the LoveBike is not a side-by-side tandem. Check BuddyBike.com for info.
Agreed, there was also a side-by-side tandem out there.

Say what?

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the name 'Buddybike' which has long been the name used for a side-by-side sociable produced in Canada (http://fun2bike.com/) was adopted for use in the U.S. just this year with a slighly different spelling (a space has been added between 'Buddy' and 'Bike') by Barry Nelson who recently purchased the patent for what was fomerly called the 'Love Bike' from the inventor, Robert Gardner.

Also, since we're splitting hairs, although trivial, a side-by-side bike is not technically a tandem and is, instead, what is known as a 'sociable' bike.
