Introductions - Hello from Singapore

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Hi my name is Bertram from Singapore. I ride a road bike, looking to get a fixed gear and become one of the very few, if not the only fixed gear rider in my country. My only gripe is that fixed gear parts are *almost* non-existent in my country (if you count in Dura-Ace Track. ). Fixed gear bikes are even harder to find. Anyone has something to recommend apart from conversions? People looking to sell off their fixies to get a new one are very much welcome :D .

Well because I like it to be simple, I like the retro-ness feeling of it (even though I may eventually get down to doing a conversion instead of getting a proper track frame), I love the look of lugged steel frames and flat crown forks, and I am looking to improve my pedal stroke.
Edit: Definitely not because it is cheap to run a fixed as I have to order almost everything necessary online in the US or other shops, and get them to ship to me here in South-East Asia. The shipping cost is killing me. :(
