Hey,

How can I get more clearance on my bicycle without buying a new one?

I heard I could change out the rear shock.

I have a specialized bicycle.

Picture is here - I dont know what year it is. Guess at a 2001 or 2002..

Thanks a lot,

clearance? As in ground clearance for pedals and crank arms? The only way I know how to do that would be to use shorter crank arms, but even that is only going to get you about 5mm max more clearance.

If by 'more clearance' you mean increasing rear suspension travel, check with BETD designs. Good quality and customer service based upon my experience. They are in the UK and make suspension options for many FSR bikes.

If you are talking about raising your bb height the only way I know is to get a taller (more travel) fork. It won't make much of a difference though. I'm not sure what frame you have, for some reason your link isn't working for me, but most frames are designed for a certain travel rear shock, putting a longer rear shock on it probably would not be a good idea. This does not really go for downhill or free ride bikes though.

More clearance for what? Why do you need more clearance?
