Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Firstly, let me apologize for yet another thread about frame sizes, but I really would like to get some opinions.
I've just ordered a 16" Kona Explosif frame from a mail order company. I'm 5'7" and slight of build. The Gary Fisher frame I've been riding for 6 years is a 17" (pos 17.5) and is close in terms of standover height, yet has been a great ride nonetheless. Kona don't do a 17" Expolsif and I kinda feel the 18" would be too big. The kona website quotes the 16" as being suitable for heights 5' - 5'7" while the 18" for 5'7" to 6'. What do people think, have I ordered the right frame or will I need to send it back and get an 18".
Many thanks in advance, and sorry for posting yet another thread about frame sizes.

I'm 5'5 and ride a size 15 Specialized Hardrock, I'd say the 16" should be good. :)
my wife rides a 16" Cindercone and is 5'7". I ride an 18" Dawg at 6'2" but I have to use a longer seatpost.
the 16 should be about right for you.

I will do, but I reckon its going to be a work in progress as I just found out my existing forks won't take a disc brake (see my XC fork post) so it'll be a while before I can get the money together for new forks and wheels (pretty much everything on my existing bike is worn out).
However having said that I have just found out that my fiancee has got a new job...........
