I wonder just how much fat is in the average human head.

The average human brain is about 2/3 fats, and the average human brain weighs about 1300-1400g. So, the average human head contains about 900g of fat, if you don't count the fat on the face. Add maybe another 50g for the fat on the face (less if you're skinny, more if you're really fat), and you get about 950g (about 2lbs) of fat in the average human head.

So, if someone is experiencing weightloss for whatever reason, does their brain get smaller? It doesn't, right?

I'm no biologist or doctor, but given that you're talking about 2lbs of fatty tissue in a 150lb or so organism, I'd say no, your brain doesn't get smaller. If it did, pro athletes would be the dumbest people on earth, and that guy that can't get off his couch would be a rocket scientist.
But besides the obvious, the brain is made of various fats, it is not adipose tissue (which is what most people think of when they think of fat in their body). So losing weight/burning fat does not mean you are burning your brain. It means your brain and the other organs in your body are using the fat in your adipose tissue to as fuel.

Is the logic of your suppoprting statement universally supportive of your conclusion? :roflmao:

HAHA i thought the same thing as I wrote it. NFL linemen are (arguably) the smartest players in the game. More of them have successful post-NFL careers than any other position, often in fields like engineering and business. And they are the "fattest" (though I dare you to call a pro lineman fat to his face  ) of the NFL.
But i think the intelligence vs. weight works out on the whole. At any rate, it's not the loss of fat in the brain that causes the stupidity of jocks. Nor does excessive weight cause intelligence in couch potatoes.
But it is funny to think about :D
