Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - frames with asymmetrical seat stays

I'm looking for a frame with asymmetrical seatstays to make my next fixed.
I am hoping to spend less than $500 for it (edit: the frame). Does anyone
know of a frame currently in production or some brand names I should be
looking for in used to find this? I saw a bike with these yesterday and I am
in love.

Absolutely no point in using asymetrical seatstays unless you plan on running a disc brake...which I assume you aren't.
Assuming both of the above are true, you'd be hard pressed to find something like that because a) It's silly, and b) If anyone was silly enough to do it, it would have limited appeal (and limited show on eBay) because it's...er......silly.

I think they can be tight. Only ever seen a couple myself, but I can see how they could be slightly more aero.

It is absolutely about looks. If you saw my current ride (http://www.bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=108762) you'd understand I
don't care about areodynamics or disc mounting etc. I just think they look
totally badass and I want a frame with them.

Still hoping for some pointers on the original question.

Looks fantastic. I can see why you want one...
But I have looked at all trackbikes on the net I could and have only seen one made like this, apart from the landsharks on the other thread. And that single one was a custom made frame on FGG.
http://www.landsharkbicycles.com sells them at over $1000, so your only hope might be to find a used one for sale - very unlikely. Or you could have one built for you. I s'pose any framebulder can do it, but it won't be cheap.

Again, that is custom made as well, from titanium by http://www.spicercycles.com for a heap of money. It seems they are all pretty much one-offs.
BTW, $900 for a custom made titanium frame this beautiful seems almost a bargain to me, if sy has that sort of money. But, add the price of a carbon or ti fork and you are above 1000, again.

One man's toast is another man's cardboard, I like to say. Personally, I think the asymetrical seat stays are just trippy enough to be cool, they make the rear triangle look like an MC Escher painting. Plus they really drive home the point that you don't need no stinking rear brake.

That said, I haven't seen any around besides the mad-pricey ones already mentioned. If you are handy with a brazing torch you could get a bike with conventional fillet brazed seat stays, disconnect the brake bridge (if its got one), disconnect the seat stays, remiter the left stay to be the 'top' and bring it in a few degrees, and shotren and remiter the right stay to be the 'bottom'. Braze back together, replace the bridge, repaint, and enjoy your handiwork. That might be a fun project if you have some files, hacksaws, acetylene torch, and want some practice at frame manipulation.

Also, since you were hoping to spend less than 500$, that would leave you room to find a cool brazed frame for 100-200$, and then have a local frame builder do the 'adjustment', which shouldn't cost all that much, certainly under your budget.

I do have the resources to modify an existing frame... that is an
excellent idea that I hadn't even considered. Looks like it is time
to go to some garage sales in hunt of a cheapo frame.

Just to clarify I meant $500 for the frame, not the entire bike.

you mean wishbone seatstays, not assymetrical. wishbones are still symmetrical.
