only time i ever saw it for sale was on the momovelo website

it's a compact/mini U-lock and has a nice silver finish to it

They're pretty hard to find even in the UK - last time I was down there I didn't see any at the stores. I'm not sure they even make them anymore. I just checked the online store and they don't offer it for sale. If you know anyone down there or... calling the London crew...

why do you want a cheap alu lock to lock your bike? A pair of small pliers will be enough to break it open.
That thing is useless unless you live in Japan, and that's why they don't sell them anywhere else.

My LBS has small u-locks. Next paycheck I think I might pick one up. This town sucks for places to lock up, so I usually just end up doing a leaner outside a store/gas station when I go for beer or whatever. A little u-lock that just fit from my front wheel to down tube would be ideal. Ideal!

I thought it was pretty thick? I just need a very small U-Lock to do the lock-rear-rim-inside-triangle trick... im tired of carrying a full sized Krypto around

Mini U-locks are frustrating for crooks, because they don't leave the empty space needed for most of the commonly used breaking and prying tools. The two best mini U-locks that are easy to find in the USA are the OnGuard Bulldog Mini and the Kryptonite Evolution 2000 Mini.

A Mini U-lock from OnGuard or Kryptonite around the rear wheel, next to the seat tube, and around a sturdy steel post, such as a parking meter, will defeat manual attacks, forcing the crooks to use power tools.

If you live in the sort of bizarro city where crooks are plugging in power tools on a public street, next to a parking meter, there is no lock made that can protect you for long. (New York...I'm talking bout ya.)
