Mountain Biking - Which is better?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Can you be a little more specific? What kind of riding? Can you drop any brands? Same brands just the difference of disc or not?

Well i am concerned mostly of the brakes...its the same brand tho..which would u choose??? should be mostly for mountain bikin which would be better atleast???
What kind of riding do you do? Do you ride the trails primarily when it is dry? Do you do a lot of riding in the mud?
If you don't ride aggressive, wet trails then disc brakes are not really needed. If you just ride primarily flat land when it's dry then the vee's are your best bet.
Also, please don't use the aol lingo. Use complete words and sentences, you will get a lot more replies that way.
Wow meteor2001, you better not let Raiyn see how you spelled that topic, he is gonna rip you a new a$$hole.
But considering you are 15 years old, talking like a 12 year old AOL user is acceptable.
Shane, you forgot to do it in blue. :)

Please type correctly in full syntax.
To answer your question, it depends on the rider, the riding and the type of bike.

When you decide to post as though you actually passed English this year instead of like some ignorant "wannabe playa" you might get some better responses. However if you continue to post gibberish and AOL'ese you won't get answers to your questions and you may end up banned

Another person getting blasted for AOLese...is it just me or did you slightly change your avatar, Raiyn?

Tough room.
Meteor2001, I would say that your chances of speaking to a "pro" is somewhat limited. What kind of "pro" were you looking for? Are you interested in soliciting expertise from a racing pro, a bike shop pro, a pro mechanic?
Regardless, I would suggest that you steer towards the rim style of brake. I say this mostly because you would more than likely know if you needed a speciality brake system (disk brakes.)
I love my disk brakes. I can justify their need for the type of riding I do. I also know their downside and I am willing to accomodate to those aspects.
But considering you are 15 years old, talking like a 12 year old AOL user is acceptable.
No it's not.

Want to make a bet? AOL'ese has no place on this Forum and never will if I have anything to say about it

Ahem, no. Just the first to think it significant enough to mention.
I think you misunderstood.
I think you're right.

If I can manage to piece together properly spelt sentences at fourteen, it should be simple shi+ for a fifteen year old.

Slight improvement but if you replaced it with a Montreal Canadiens logo it would be even better. :p

13 here, I also manage to form comprehendable sentences. ;) I'm assuming your native language is English? Then shame on you, a little 13 year old Hungarian boy can spell better than you. ;) Meteor2001, all you have to do is take that extra minute to make your post readable, it's not that hard. Then we might be able to help.

I fixed your avatar, Raiyn. The colors were a little off and so was the text.

BLASPHEMY! How dare you! How the **************** DARE YOU!
As a former long time resident of Minnesota I take GREAT offense to that.
It's like asking an old Brooklyn Dodgers fan to root for L.A.
I spit on your "Stars" (the franchise not the players) and curse the name of Norm Green.

It's nothing personal towards you jameyj, but that's about the biggest insult you could ever throw at a MN North Stars fan

Didn't know you had roots in MN. I grew up in Louisiana (no hockey to speak of) and moved to Texas in '98 and started rooting for the Stars back in college before I moved to Texas.
It really sucks not having a Hockey season this year. I was pretty bummed. I am sure you were too! Well here is hoping that the puck sails across the ice once again in a NHL arena near you!

It's cool, though I wish you would have checked my profile (http://www.bikeforums.net/member.php?userid=3276) first.
I actually gave up hockey when they moved the North Stars. It was six years before my (new at the time) girlfriend took me to a Lightning game (pre MN Wild) all the old feelings came rushing back and I've always been a sucker for the underdog. So that's the short version of the story
Maybe meteor2001 is Dutch... because that's the only language that I know of in which "u" is an actual word. :)
<bad joke about fingers and lesbians deleted>
Hey Raiyn, I noticed the new avatar too, but mainly because the old one was even more of an eyesore. Seems convenient to have the cup the year before they stop playing. I really thought baseball would go before hockey...
Didn't your mother ever teach you if you don't have anything nice to say then keep your mouth shut?
It's obvious then that your mother most defintely did not... otherwise you'd have about 3 posts instead of 3 billion.
I thought of you when I saw this:
Grunts, clicks, smoke signals and hand gestures....all inappropriate for forum chatting.

Should have used the Aeros. Say what you want ...the Minors... but at least these guys had a full season. Just wish they kept with the Bomber logo. The jet took a dive when they got adopted the Min. Wild colors.
