Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

In a little under 2 weeks I'm heading to South Carolina in my Pontiac Grand Am GT with a bike rack and two bikes on it. I just now thought, oh sh*t, what if it pours rain during the entire ride?
Would it be a big deal if I dried them off right away? Or is it ideal to somehow wrap the whole damn bike to avoid rain?
We drove to GA running from a Hurricane and had no issues with all three bikes on the back of a Monte Carlo. The speed actually kept them mostly dry. We cover our saddles with shopping bags secured with duct tape, but beyond that and some lube on the chain you should be fine. Wipe down as needed. As long as you don't make it a routine thing you'll be fine
