Hi all
I had a prob with a chain accessory and needed some quick help which is how I discovered this great forum. I live in the UK. I'm 38 years old and have had a bike since childhood. Oddly enough always had a Raleigh: Owned a 3-speed Grifter, 21 speed MTB and a Reynolds 501 Record Sprint racer (10 speed). MTB was at me for 6 years - not a single problem in all this time (that's great isn't it!!!). Sold the MTB recently. My racer was idle in the garage for about 10 years. Always thought of selling it but I like it too much to part with it! Kept it spick and span. A month ago I refurbished it cause I decided to commute with it to work. Changed tyres (inner & outer) cause of prolonged disuse, installed mudguards, fitted pannier bag & rack, new lights, and general service. Very oddly, I'm having too many problems with the chain!!! I'm beginning to think that perhaps I should have sold my racer and kept the MTB but no, I won't give up just yet! Happily married and expecting first child later this year.

I had a couple of Grifters when I was a kid. The throttle shifter was the business.

My first bike was a Chopper sans flag.
