Mountain Biking - Pitlock Availability in North America

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

In the homage-to-Raiyn thread the topic of lockable skewers by the company Pitlock came up.

I emailed this German company asking if they had distributors or retailers in North America (or at least in Canada and/or the U.S.) for their products.

I got an email reply back:

many thanks for your interest in PITLOCK. Unfortunately, we don't have any sale to the USA or Canada yet. Perhaps we can on the bicycle fair establish good contacts in fall. You then learn this on the Internet under www.pitlock.com.

Yours sincerely
Your PITLOCK team.

As you can see, there is presently no source this side of the Atlantic although it does look like there may be one materializing later this year.

This is more of a FYI but if you have alternatives you use for this kind of stuff (wheel and/or seat post) then please share that info.

Bump. Any new news? QBP had them last year, but they've been dropped for the 2010 catalog.

FWIW I am very happy with the Pitlocks, another added layer of protection for my bike, expensive but worth it
