BMX - Los Angeles riders - where to shop?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I haven't touched a BMK bike in 15 years, but am looking to pick up a bike for some casual street riding and maybe some nostalgic freestyling. I'm having trouble finding a good bike shop in my area. Any LA riders out there know of a place in the Hollywood/Mid-Wilshire vicinity... or reasonably beyond? I'd like a decent $300-$400 bike for a 6'2" rider.

One dumb (forgive me) question: In looking online, a lot of bikes lack front brakes. My choices get limited in looking for a 20.75-21" TT frame. Is it easy to mount front brakes if I find a bike I like without them? I'm open to bike recommendations too... online purchase or otherwise.

Thanks.

you'd have to buy the parts, but it'd b easier to just
a) buy a bike with a fork with brake mounts
b) buy a fork with brake mounts to put on
