Recreational & Family - Kona Dew Deluxe vs Trek 7500 FX

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So after reading numerous posts in the forum, and numerous test rides, I am down to 2 choices.
Kona Dew Deluxe (http://www.konaworld.com/shopping_cart/FrontEnd/Products/product_detail.aspx?productid=79&parentid=182) and Trek 7500 FX (http://www2.trekbikes.com/Bikes/City_Bike_Path/Hybrid/FX/7500_FX/index.php)
Price wise, these two are fairly close. Kona Dew Deluxe sells for $600 and the Trek 7500 FX is $660.
Which one would you choose?
Thanks!!

I'd check ebay to see if you'd find a better deal first...

I like the Kona Dew Deluxe.
I like the Kona Dew Deluxe.
Ditto, in my opinion it has better geometry then the Trek.

Kona for the lower price, disc brakes, and wheels with a real spoke count rather than the paired spoke crap on the Trek. Plus there are just less Konas around...my area anyway.

I test rode the 7500FX and the Jamis Coda Sport last weekend. Both are very nice bikes. For me tne Jamis had a slight edge in smoothness(steel). If you can fit one of these into your comparo I think you will be pleased. They cost less than the 7500 too. http://www.jamisbikes.com/bikes/05_codasport.html

I looked at the Jamis Coda Comp, Kona Dew Dlx, Trek 7500 FX and the Giant FCR 2. The Trek was heavier than I wanted and the Dew Dlx was on back order. it came down to FCR vs the Comp. I went with the Comp because it felt more resilient. I would say try as many bikes as you can and go by feel, not just specs.

I have a Dew Deluxe and I love it- it goes everywhere and does everything I want it to do, and is sturdy but fairly lightweight. Plus, it's hella good-looking!

I just bought a 7500FX for $599 - check around - you don't have to pay $660. I love the bike - comfortable, reasonably fast and sturdy enough for a BIG rider.

I'm pretty partial to Giant bikes. Nevertheless, if you can check out a Giant FCR-2, it is one nice bike.
