Singlespeed & Fixed Gear - rear spacing

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. the rear spacing on my conversion is 135mm. when i fit the tire on it looks wrong, with more space on one side. how can this be adjusted to 120mm spacing? take it in to my LBS?

If your axle is long enough, t'll be much easier to use spacers to re-space your hub to fit the 135mm spacing. Space spacey mc spacerstein.

Need much more infomation..like what kind of bike (mtb, road?). What spacing is your wheel (120?). Are you trying to reduce the spacing on the frame or widen the hub? (both are possible). Pic would be helpful as well. Report back, we will be glad to help.

Slightly fuzzy... If the hub is ok (as wide as the space btw the dropouts, and your chainline requires the hub to be laterally where it is now, then you just need to redish your wheel: If the rim is not much out from centre to the right, you'll only need to tension the left side spokes (and possibly loosen the right hand ones a bit). That'll move the rim over.
No points for guessing what to do if the rim is to the left.

My fixed mtb is using an old sansin fixed/fixed hub that was originally spaced to 120mm. A longer axle, some spacers, a little time, and bob's yer uncle.
I have a feeling my chainline's suboptimal, but I've never thrown it and it doesn't make too many funny noises at me, so I'm happy enough.
